Newberry House began in 2010 on Lourensford Estate in Somerset West, with a simple conviction: children deserve an education that is academically serious, connected to nature and rooted in real life. What started in a small collection of farm buildings has grown into a th Montessori and Cambridge community, shaped by authentic Montessori practice, earth stewardship and real-life learning.
At Newberry House, education is taken seriously, but never narrowly. We believe children need deep academic foundations, a lifelong love of learning and the ability to apply knowledge in real life. Learning here is shaped by curiosity, careful work, meaningful experience and joy in discovery.
Our approach brings together authentic Montessori practice and a Cambridge International pathway within a campus designed for real-life learning. Children learn in prepared environments, organic gardens, outdoor spaces, sports facilities and classrooms that invite independence, stewardship, creativity and thoughtful engagement with the world.
The result is an education that develops critical thinking, entrepreneurial confidence, a connection to nature and a grounded understanding of real life.
Newberry House is connected to respected organisations that support our commitment to quality, accountability and ongoing growth. These relationships reflect our Montessori roots, Cambridge pathway, independent school membership and care for our living campus.
