Education, done well

At Newberry House, we are dedicated to cultivating the essential skills for today's world: critical thinking, a lifelong love of learning, and the ability to apply knowledge across diverse contexts. Our approach blends the proven benefits of authentic Montessori education with the globally respected Cambridge International curriculum. Learners engage in immersive learning experiences within an inspiring environment that promotes earth stewardship, offers rich opportunities for sports, culture, and outdoor adventures, and sparks entrepreneurial thinking.

FIFTEEN YEARS

Our history

In 2010, Newberry House Montessori School was founded on Lourensford Estate in Somerset West. It has been expanding ever since, not only in size but in offering as well.

2010
- Newberry House Montessori School launches at Lourensford Estate, Somerset West.
- 45 children and 2 buildings.
2013
- Newberry grows to 75 children.
- Elementary programme introduced with the opening of the Willow class.
2015
- Newberry continues to grow to 120 children.
- ISASA member school.
- Cambridge Lower Secondary programme introduced.
2017
- Newberry grows to 200 children.
- 12 buildings including a new kitchen, staffroom, and additional classrooms.
2019
- Winner of British Council's Waters of the World competition.
- First cohort of Cambridge Checkpoint learners.
2021
- Launch of Montessori Sport programme, one of 7 global pilot schools.
- First Eco-Schools Green Flag.
2023
- Launch of Cambridge AS-Level programme.
- Eco-Schools Diamond Status achieved.
- OISESA Quality Award 2023.
2025
- 28 buildings on Lourensford campus.
- Newberry House Spier campus announced for 2026.
- AMI Global School Accreditation pilot.
- Two SALI landscaping awards.
